The Wrinkled Press Story

Wrinkled Sea Press had its beginnings in the Southeastern Massachusetts port city of New Bedford in 1971. As a nerdy high school senior I was struck by a poem that was included in the “Crimson Log” – the New Bedford High School 1971 yearbook. That poem – “My Christmas” – a dystopian view of Christmas was penned by a classmate that I didn’t really know – Dennis Rivard. For years after that, gripped by nostalgia, every Christmas season I would pull out that yearbook and, while reliving my high school memories I was drawn to that poem – some say I was haunted by it. Sometime during the summer of 2020 correspondence with Dennis, two Bombay Sapphire martinis sparked the idea to start a company and publish Dennis’s work. Wrinkled Sea Press was formed as both a labor of love and a retirement venture.

The first published work of WSP, fittingly, is Sidelong Glances by Dennis Rivard.

WSP’s mission is to help poets reveal their work to the world. If you are interested in learning how to publish with us, please reach out to info@wrinkledsea.com
